Happy Anniversary
It was my 34th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Dec. 12. Yippy Skippy. We made grilled cheese sandwiches and watched some dumb movie on TV. The weather sucked and we just didn't want to go out. At this rate, we may actually make it to 50!
Life Must Go On

My mother just called to let me know that my dad's brother had passed away this weekend. This makes the 3rd relative in 2 months. My Aunt Kathleen passes about two months ago and then my Uncle David passed about two weeks ago. They were from my mom's side. When I talked to my mom today, she said that my father is really afraid of dying. He will be turning 88 next month. It would be so sad to see him go, but on the other hand he would be with his family and my older brother Richard again. Free from this life's turmoil and trials. Death is a hard thing, sometimes a blessing, sometimes not. But a part of life that we must endore.

Thanksgiving

Well, I survived Thanksgiving! I hate holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. Since Tyler's death, I have a real hard time around this time of year. We went to my parent's house for Thanksgiving and actually had a decent time. The food was great, my brother Jon is a great cook. My sister was there and so was her son, Justin and his new wife (Susan I think). We really missed Stacey and Ryan, but both Holly and Danny had off of work so they both came. We went to a movie first, Old Dogs, and then had dinner. All in all, it was a liveable day. Now if Christmas would just go away.

Stacey and Ryan move to Hawaii

Stacey and Ryan have finally moved to Honolulu, Hawaii. We went and saw them off at the airport. I'm so proud of her and how much she has grown into a fine woman. I am really going to miss her laughter, sillyness, and enthusiasm. I wish her and Ryan all the best luck on their new adventure. Miss and love you guys.
On a sadder note, my Uncle David passed away today. He was living in California so I won't be going to the funeral. He was my mom's older brother. It makes me sad because I realize just how old my mom is and how she could go at any time. Her sister died 9 weeks ago. I guess you just have to appreciate what you have when you actually have it!

Happy Birthday Terry

Today is my best friends birthday, she's the one in the middle. I taught with her for 9 years. She is my Wendover buddy. When we are about ready to burst, we'll take a trip to Wendover, Nevada. We use the time to purge and reconnect. Then we stuff ourselves at the buffet at Montego Bay. After we are totally stuffed, we go and play the penny machines. Sometimes we win, most times we don't, but we still have a blast. I really hope she has a great day!

Yeah, It's Friday

This week has been a tough one. My mother was in the hospital earlier this week because she was burned on the face, arms, and hands. A pot of oil had been left on the stove and started on fire. She tried to put it out using another pan of water. The hot oil and fire splashed on her. She keeps saying that she isn't in pain, but it sure looks like she is. I'm just glad she has a house to go home to. Luckily it didn't burn down. I just wish I was in a position to keep a better eye on her. She is 85 and lives with my dad who is 87. They are both getting to that point of not doing too well on their own. Decisions, decisions, decisions...

It's Still a Girl!
Holly text me and said that she had just been to the doctor. After the ultasound, the doctor told her that is was still a girl. I really think that Holly is going to name her Tylynn Mae. Cute! She said that she had a bunch of pictures so hopefully she will get some copies soon.

Good and Bad Day
Today started out so great! It was my grand-daughter's first day of Kindergarten. She was so excited this morning. She actually got up early all by herself. She gets to ride the bus home. I'm taking her out for a celebration treat after school.
Then my mother called! She told me that my Aunt Kathleen had passed away. She had been quite ill and it probably was a blessing for her. I hadn't seen her in a long time. She was my favorite aunt. She was there for me when my older brother passed away and when my first son was born. She was a fabulous cook, an amazing singer, and a really nice person. I will miss her.

First Day of School
Well school has started here in Layton. It's kind of bittersweet for me. I taught in the classroom for 20 years before becoming an instructor on the district level in technology. At the moment, we are not running any classes in our lab for at least the next four months because we are "redesigning" what we do. I will be running an online class in Microsoft Publisher, but it's just not the same as teaching in front of a classroom. I'm really bummed about this. I looked into going back to teaching in the classroom, but I would have to take a BIG pay cut, and I just can't afford it right now. It's funny how I really wanted this job because it was me dream job. But with the way things are changing, I hope it doesn't turn into a nightmare! Anyway, good luck to all the teachers and kids out there and have a great first day back to school! :o)

It's a Girl!!!

I just found out that my new grandchild is going to be a girl. My daughter Holly is thinking about naming her Tylynne May after her little brother that passed away 4 years ago. I think that that name would be really nice. The baby isn't due until January, so I'm sure the name will change several times before that.

My Family

I have the best family ever. I've been married for 34 years. I have 3 boys and 3 girls. I have 1 son-in-law whom I absolutely cherish. I've been blessed with one beautiful grand-daughter and recently found out that I have another grand-child coming in January. I also have a crazy golden lab named Lola and a mutt name Shadow.
Welcome to My Blog
Hi--My name is Michele Hinojosa and these are my memories. Some are happy, some are sad. But they are what make me who I am. (Good or Bad!)
