Good and Bad Day

Today started out so great! It was my grand-daughter's first day of Kindergarten. She was so excited this morning. She actually got up early all by herself. She gets to ride the bus home. I'm taking her out for a celebration treat after school.

Then my mother called! She told me that my Aunt Kathleen had passed away. She had been quite ill and it probably was a blessing for her. I hadn't seen her in a long time. She was my favorite aunt. She was there for me when my older brother passed away and when my first son was born. She was a fabulous cook, an amazing singer, and a really nice person. I will miss her.

First Day of School

Well school has started here in Layton. It's kind of bittersweet for me. I taught in the classroom for 20 years before becoming an instructor on the district level in technology. At the moment, we are not running any classes in our lab for at least the next four months because we are "redesigning" what we do. I will be running an online class in Microsoft Publisher, but it's just not the same as teaching in front of a classroom. I'm really bummed about this. I looked into going back to teaching in the classroom, but I would have to take a BIG pay cut, and I just can't afford it right now. It's funny how I really wanted this job because it was me dream job. But with the way things are changing, I hope it doesn't turn into a nightmare! Anyway, good luck to all the teachers and kids out there and have a great first day back to school! :o)

It's a Girl!!!

I just found out that my new grandchild is going to be a girl. My daughter Holly is thinking about naming her Tylynne May after her little brother that passed away 4 years ago. I think that that name would be really nice. The baby isn't due until January, so I'm sure the name will change several times before that.

Abby Starts School

My grand-daughter Abigail will be starting Kindergarten this year. I can't believe she is already this old. I remember the day she was born. Kids grow up way too fast.
